GPU Mining - Information

As of today, Arionum has started to be mineable with GPU thanks to Guli, who has made an incredible job!

The GPU miner is doing 1300H/s on an gtx 1080. More benchmarks should be provided by our community!

The full installation guide provided by Guli can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/guli13/arionum-gpu-miner/overview

We're left with 2 choices at the moment, as Arionum was ment to be a CPU coin.
1. We go gpu mining and that's it, the cpu feature was an important thing about ARO, but it's not the only reason or the only feature for which ARO was launched.
2. We could try to tune the mining alghoritm, to create a better penalty for the gpus, maybe equalize the profitability along the cpu lines, if that's even possible. This would require a hard fork after a certain block.

I'm putting these 2 options to a vote in this thread. Based on the vote outcome, we will proceed accordingly.

Just out of interest I tried this miner out, I have voted against GPU mining though as I think CPU is fairer for most people.

Just posting results really - GTX1050 - 533h/s with settings -t 2 -b 32

Cheers

at this time, gpu mining is enabled ? or is it only in a testnet?

i think gpu resistance is a nice - from beginning - feature to keep and also if this is changed we need to notice/publish on specs for fair use.

nice project. nice job!!

It was enabled.

The new rules came into effect with the hf 10800.

GPU is still possible, but should not be worth it.
